A safer way to cyclingroute 80

The cycling paths to route 80 and the flower & fruit gardens, between Wageningse Berg and Wageningen-Hoog, is a popular route for recreational cycling. This route over de Bosrandweg has a crossing point with de N225 road Wageningen-Renkum. Cyclists don’t get a free pass to cross the N225 without watching for cars passing. To divide the two-way cycling route the municipality placed narrow central reserve blocs on the south side of the bicycle lane.

These blocs haven’t been safe lately because of a falling cyclist on this spot. After this event the municipality decided to remove the blocs because they are too high, and cyclists can hit the blocs with their bicycle pedals and fall. This crossing point will be made saver with the placement of a bicycle path pole. To secure cyclists don’t hit this new object, there will be visible markings with an acceptable distance from the pole. The situation will also be made safer with markings on the sides of the bicycle lane. Cycle this route yourself and enjoy!
